How to sync staff training with credit union marketing

  • November 10, 2023

As I have worked with credit unions small and large - a shared struggle I've noticed is making sure the folks at the front desk are in the loop about marketing moves.

Curious about what's working for others? Here are some top takeaways I've gathered on syncing up staff training with marketing:

Loop in your team on the marketing roadmap. Is there a marketing calendar everyone checks out? Are your colleagues up to speed on the latest promos? Try talking it over in your next team catch-up. It's key that your crew is clued in so they can deliver top-notch member service. How about an easy-breezy cheat sheet for each promo to help your staff stay in the know?

Try to get everyone together regularly. For the smaller Credit Unions, it's tempting to stagger team meets to keep things running smooth. But there's something special about full-team meet-ups that can really add to your culture. You might need to get creative with scheduling, but it's worth a shot. How does your team roll with this?

Encourage your staff to take the lead on cross-selling. How can you do this? By assigning them a product to master and then share their insights. This not only gets everyone involved but also builds up their confidence and knowledge.

Marketing Quick Sheets: Create one-page "Quick Sheets" for each promotion with key details that tellers can refer to. These should include the promotion's duration, target audience, key benefits, and FAQs. Update them as new promotions roll out.
